  Lundy Maurice Easter, 83 years old, of Weatherford, Texas, was carried into Glory in the arms of Jesus Christ, February 14, 2025, after a stroke. He was born September 29, 1941, in Reisel, Texas, to Lundy Thomas Easter and Gussie Doretha McDonald Easter.

  He is survived by six children: four sons, Michael Easter of Weatherford, Jimmy Easter of Weatherford, Robert Easter of Weatherford, and Tim (Christine) Easter of Santo; two daughters, Michelle Easter of Weatherford and Kelly (Jay) Andrews of Plano; brother, Billy Easter of Grand Prairie, grandchildren, MiKayla Easter, Alisa Easter, Kent Easter, Shaun Jones (Haley), Melissa Myers (Will), Rylie Easter, Jamie Easter, Sandy Davis, Elizabeth Salinas, and Angela Salinas; great grandchildren, Alton, Emily, and Emberlynn; and countless nieces, nephews, cousins, and others who loved him.

  Maurice’s mother; father; one son, Jeffrey Easter; one grandson, Jeffrey Easter; and brothers, James and Danny, precede him in death.

  Maurice grew up in Waco, Texas where he fell in love and married Darlene Kimmel when he was seventeen years old. They were together for sixty-six years until she passed. He served in the Army and Army Reserves. He attended and taught at Texas Technical Institute in Waco, Texas and shared his craft with many who he had the pleasure of teaching through his career. Maurice worked in industrial mechanical centrifugal HVAC for over forty years and was the top mechanic in Texas for many years. He was a friend to many. 

  He was a Baptist and non-denominational bi-vocational pastor and preached in El Paso where countless lives were changed for eternity. He was a long-time resident of Burleson, Texas and spent the last decade residing in Weatherford, Texas. He was a business owner, loved to tinker with cars, the yard or house. He taught Bible studies in his home, provided pulpit supply, gave generously to churches and those in need, helped his family and never lost his sense of humor.

  He had a generous heart and a strong Christian faith, believes in prayer and miracles because he was a miracle. He shared his love story for his wife and the gospel of Jesus Christ to anyone who would listen. During the last year, he witnessed to countless medical staff and led three nurses to the Lord while in the hospital. God welcomed him home saying well-done good and faithful servant. He was truly special.

  A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 28, 2025, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, in Weatherford, Texas. 

  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army.
