Maurine Young

Maurine Young, 84, of Weatherford passed away Friday, August 12, 2016. Funeral service: 3 p.m, Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with interment to follow in Greenwood Community Cemetery. Visitation: 6-8 p.m, Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Santa Fe Health and Rehabilitation Center. Maurine was born August 8, 1932 in Moore Haven, Florida to Burtrum and Mary Upchurch Reed. She was a homemaker and a member of Harmony Baptist Church. Maurine was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, James Kennith Young; sons, Terry Lynn Young and Jerry Wayne Young; sisters, Mary Turney and Elizabeth “Betty” Lucille Johnson; brother, Robert Reed and her second husband, Charles Jackson. Survivors include: Son James Kennith Young, Jr and wife Shirley and William “Bill” Young; daughters in law, Beverly Young and Florence “Charlie” Young; 14 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
