Max A. King


BROCK – Max A. King of Brock, Texas passed away on February 21, 2011 with his family by his side. He was a member of Brock United Methodist Church, A Past Master Mason of Olive Branch Lodge # 792 and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. He served in the U.S. Navy, SeeBees 5th Battalion.
        He is preceded in death by his parents Bruce and Ada King.
Max leaves behind his wife, Marjorie King; sons, Joe Dwayne of Brock, Maxie Lee and wife, Rosemary of Abilene; grandchildren, Rose Lee, Bonnie, Branden and Shady Rae; great-grandchildren, Waylon and Tristle. He is also survived by his sister, Fern Jones of Brock.
        Before his retirement, he worked as a Dynamite Technician which included construction on I-20 and pipelines in West Texas. He built several airboats which he ran on the Brazos River, and he was a great mechanic, but his favorite past time was fishing. He fished all his life until November 2010, when his health began to fail.
       At his request, his body will be cremated and his family will hold a celebration of his life at a future date.   In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Brock Methodist Church or the Brock Masonic Lodge.
     
         Max was loved by his family and will be forever in their hearts.
