Melba Lorene Hoover

  Melba Lorene Hoover, a beloved mother and grandmother, peacefully passed away on Friday, March 14, 2025, at the age of 91. Born on February 10, 1934, in Erath County, Texas, to Duncan McCauley and Meda Culberhouse McCauley, Melba married Dwight Hoover on February 2, 1953 and were married for 66 years. She led a life filled with warmth, love, and cherished memories.

  As a devoted homemaker, Melba poured her heart into creating a nurturing environment for her family. She was a former member of the Granbury Church of Christ and currently attended Eastridge Church of Christ in Rockwall. Melba found great joy in simple pleasures, from sitting by the lake to spending quality time with her family, playing games, and sharing laughs over cards.

  Her legacy lives on through her daughter and son-in-law, Lymeda and Michael E. Singleton; her son, Dwayne Hoover; and her grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and joy, Rob Singleton and his wife, Candice, Kevin Singleton and his wife, April, Janet Schlegel and her husband, Mike, Laura Singleton, Eric Hoover and his wife, Sarah, Nicholas Hoover and his wife, Brooke, and Katie Yowell and her husband, Keelan; along with her 11 great-grandchildren, are all a testament to the love she cultivated throughout her life.

  A private family graveside service will be held at East Greenwood Cemetery, where family will gather to honor and celebrate Melba's remarkable life. She will be greatly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those she touched.
