Melody Kay Maronde

Melody Kay Maronde, age 65, of Azle, Texas, peacefully entered Heaven on Sunday, September 19, 2021, with her sons by her side. She was born May 19, 1956, in Fort Worth, Texas to William Harrison Burkett and Ray Gene Burkett. Melody was a material handler and tool maker for Lockheed Martin and Bell Helicopter for a combined thirty years, where she met her beloved husband, Stan, made many friends and enjoyed a productive career. She loved traveling on vacations with her family, camping and being surrounded by those she loved, especially her cherished grandchildren and great grandchild. 

Melody was preceded in death by her mother, Ray Gene Burkett Hulce; brother, Donald Wayne Burkett; and her husband, Stan Gordon Maronde. 

She is survived by her sons, Billy Eugene Vaughn, II and wife, Christina Rene of Weatherford and Brad Wesley Vaughn and wife, Amber Jean of Azle; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Nicole, Ethan Trace, Colton Wesley, and Peyton Leigh Vaughn; great granddaughter, Stella Shea Mora; father, William Harrison Burkett of Dallas; sisters, Deborah Diana and husband, David Michael Schmidt of Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and Rose Marion Olivier of Arlington; former husband and father of her sons, Billy Eugene Vaughn; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; treasured friend, Hazel Stanley; and many other cherished and close acquaintances.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 29, 2021, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, September 30, 2021, at North Side Baptist Church with interment to follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Weatherford, Texas.
