Melvin Nicholas "Nick" Coufal, age 85, departed from this life on Saturday, April 19, 2025, to be with our beloved Lord and Savior. He was born on January 20, 1940, in Jack County, Texas, to Rudolph Coufal and Myrtle (Jonas) Coufal. Nick married the love of his life, Leslie Daugherity, and together they built a beautiful life. He worked in the oilfield the majority of his life, spent some time in manufacturing, and worked for Parker County several years before retirement. He was a member of Grace Meadow Fellowship.
Nick was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Joe Ray Coufal.
Nick was a family man of unwavering strength and perseverance known for his relentless work ethic. He was a quiet man yet possessed undeniable wisdom in his genuine outlook on life. He held a special place in his heart for animals. He and Leslie shared a passion for plants, landscape, and gardening.
Nick leaves behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who had the privilege to know him. Nick is survived by his wife of 45 years, Leslie Denise Coufal of Aledo, Texas; his sister, Kay Cauldwell and husband, Jim; son, Scott Turk and wife, Kristin; daughter, Dawn Ryle; daughter, Lisa Groschup and husband, Scott; daughter, Christy Gilbreath; son, James Coufal; ten grandchildren, Slayten Turk, Bryce Ryle, Destinee Turk, Trinity Scroggs, Taylor Cone, Tyler Cone, Kasey Birdwell, Courtney Groschup, Audra Sharp, and April Lane; and six great grandchildren, Wesley Ryle, Waylon Ryle, Ainsley Turk, Iris Turk, Jack Turk, and Savannah Scroggs.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate to Grace Meadow Fellowship, 210 Garner Road, Weatherford, Texas 76086, where a memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 1:00 p.m.
Nick’s pride for his family, his selfless character placing others before him, and his unwavering love for Leslie are just a few of the traits that will be missed. Though his physical absence may challenge our human understanding, the family finds peace in God’s timing to call Nick home.
