Melvin Carl McBride

Melvin Carl McBride, 79, of Weatherford passed away January 19, 2014 at home following a lengthy illness.

Carl was born February 25, 1934 to Jesse and Estelle McBride in Decatur Texas. After growing up and working on his family's farm in Paradise, he joined and served in the United States Navy. He worked in and retired from the oilfield and had successful business ventures during his life. Carl was a lifetime member of the VFW and actively served in officer positions up until the mid 90's. He was proceded in death by his loving life partner, Mitzi Nash in 2009.

Survivors include his daughter, Terry Hart of Carson City Nevada, son, Larry McBride and grand daughter Marisa both of Long Beach California, a brother Curtis McBride and nephews of Weatherford, extended family Tara Nash Lothridge and Gary of Weatherford, Bob Nash and Teresa of Weatherford, Bill Nash  and Kathy of Mineral Wells, Chris Nash and Monica of Hurst, with many grand children and great-grand children that loved Papa C, and loving lifelong friends Charles and Shirley Devona of Rosharon TX.


Viewing will be Monday, January 27, 2014, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., in the chapel of Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Home.

Tuesday, January 28, 2014, we will gather at 11 a.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel for a procession to the graveside services at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
