Metz Bradford Castleberry, 88, of Weatherford, walked into the arms of his Lord early on Wednesday, October 25, 2017, at Hilltop Nursing in Weatherford.
A Going Home Celebration for both Metz and his wife Barbara’s life will be held at 7 P.M., October 30, at the Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford.
Metz was born July 16, 1929 in Rush Springs, Oklahoma – one of 13 children born to Olva and Lena Castleberry. Metz enjoyed Blue Grass music and was an accomplished artist and sculptor. He owned a bronze casting foundry in Weatherford for many years. He was a member of the local AA for 42 years. Most of all, Metz will be remembered as a mentor to all.
Metz is survived by his children, John Castleberry of Arkansas, Martha (Ken Graber) Stinnett of Palo Pinto, Texas, and Janis (Gary) Menix of Weatherford, Texas; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and by many special friends.
In addition to his parents, Metz was preceded in death by his wife, of 40 years, Barbara; and by 11 brothers and one sister.
As Metz would say, ‘donate your love and time to your family.’ Donations can be made to your local humane society of a charity of your choice.
