Michael Alan Markalonis “Nasty,” 65, of Weatherford, passed away early Wednesday morning, September 2, 2020.
Visitation will be held on Thursday evening, September 3, 2020, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.; at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford. A Rosary will be prayed at 9:30 a.m., on Friday morning, September 4, at the funeral home followed by a Graveside Committal Service at East Greenwood Cemetery, in Weatherford.
Michael was born on August 18, 1955, in Spokane, Washington, to Joseph Markalonis and Valene Beadle. He married Lita Chavez on February 25, 1974, and together had two children, Michael Alan and Meagon. He was active at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church in Weatherford. Michael was known to be an advocate for abused children. Additionally, he was and artist who enjoyed woodworking and was known for his buttermilk pies. He was also a wrestler and is in the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame. Most of all, Michael will be remembered for being the best “Pa” to his grandchildren and a “Great Uncle Mike” to his nieces and nephews.
Michael is survived by his wife, Lita; his children, Michael Alan, Jr. and Meagon Lochabay; his grandchildren, Gatlin, Lenora, Harlyn and Cole Alan; by his parents, Joseph Markalonis and Valene Beadle; and by his siblings, Shari Jenson, Laura Markalonis, and James and Val Markalonis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Michael's memory may be made to St. Judes or to the DAV.
