Michael Edward Swinford

Michael “Mikey” Swinford, 60, of Azle passed away Saturday, November 12, 2011 at his residence, after a lengthy illness. He was born January 25, 1951 in Fort Worth, where he lived most of his life. Beginning in the 1970s, Mikey worked for his family’s restaurant, Swinford’s Bar-B-Que in Diamond Hill as well as a diver for Tarrant County Special Equipment Squad. He was an avid scuba diver and caver. Mikey was preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his wife of 39 ½ years, Sheila;  daughter, Christina Swinford of Arlington; son, Marney Andrew Swinford of Livingston; the most special blessing in his life, Mikey’s little helper, his pride and joy, his grandson Michael Reed of Arlington; his mother; two brothers;  aunts, uncles nieces and nephews.
 
Memorial service: 10:30 AM, Monday, November 21, 2011 at the Moose Lodge 1889, 5001 Bernice, Haltom City, Texas 76117, with a lunch to follow.  Mikey’s lifelong friend Bill Spivey will officiate, Ed Mullins will condut the music and a prayer will be led by Danny Dow.
