Michael James Kennedy

Michael “Mike” James Kennedy, 51, of Weatherford, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, March 22, south of Weatherford. A private memorial service celebrating his life will be held at 4 P.M., on Sunday March 31, 2019. Additional information may be available from the family.
Mike was born on October 28, 1967, in Bell County, Texas to James Kennedy and Sharon Jones. He was a graduate of Granbury High School and went on to get his certificate as a truck driver from Weatherford College. He drove a truck for Trans Am Trucking and more recently for Hirschbach Motor Freight. Mike enjoyed outdoor activities including hunting and fishing. He took pride in ‘working with his hands’ and was an avid fan of NASCAR. Additionally, he was a fan of the Florida Gators. Mike became a Born-Again-Christian in 2012. Most of all, Mike cherished time spent with his beloved family – particularly his beloved nieces and nephews. He will be greatly missed by both his family and by his friends. The family requests donations be made to the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in Weatherford.
Mike is survived by his sisters, Sherri and husband, Curtis Smith, of Weatherford and Wanda Mason of Greenville, South Carolina and brother, Curt Jones and wife Nancy of Granbury; and by his nieces and nephews, Chandler Morgan, Betheny Couch, Joshua Morgan, Krystle Morgan, Kristianna Mason and Stephen Mason; and by his beloved dog, Sam.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents.
