Michael Thomas Winfrey

Michael Thomas Winfrey, 69, of Lipan, formerly of Arlington, went to be with the Lord, Friday December 11, 2015 at his residence.  Mike was born May 28, 1946 in Dallas, Texas. He was a US Navy veteran, serving in the Vietnam War and a member of Lipan Baptist Church. Mike was in retail merchandising until he became disabled in 1996. He was an animal lover, was involved with race horses, loved to play golf, go shopping, indulge in good food and enjoyed watching baseball and football. Mike was one that treasured spending time with his grandchildren, and his three generations of nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Fannye Mae Winfrey and his wife Dayna Lynn Winfrey. Survivors: children, Shelley Knight and husband Billy, Renee McKinney and husband Craig, Shelly Howard and Bobby Votrubo; sister, Sandra Gilreath and husband Marvin; grandchildren, Amanda Knight, Cody Knight, Brandy Pollifrone and husband Scott, Tiffany McKinney, Michael McKinney, Zane and Zachary Howard and Robin Votrubo; great grandchildren, Joseph and Jacob Pollifrone, Shaylee and Rylee Knight, Shelbi Knight and Wayne and Eve Knight. Mike was also blessed with generations of nieces and nephews that he adored.

Funeral service: 3:00 PM, Monday December 14, 2015 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with Rev. Danny Shearman officiating. Interment will follow at Johnson Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Lipan Fire Department, Johnson Cemetery Association or CareFlight.
