Mildred McKenzie Peters

November 1, 1927 — May 23, 2007

Mildred McKenzie Peters, 79, a retired travel agent, died at 12:15 p.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2007, due to a stroke. Mildred was born November 1, 1927, in Peaster, Texas, to Roy K. McKenzie and Prentess Marie Bellenger McKenzie. She attended Peaster Schools, but later graduated from Weatherford High School in 1945. Mildred married Leonard Peters, September 2, 1945. 

She was preceded in death by her parents. 

Mildred was a retired travel agent and owner of First Travel Service for 25 years. She loved tending her flowers and visiting with her friends. She was a member of North Side Baptist Church of 56 years and loved the fellowship of Sunday School and Church. Her priorities were: God, Family, Church, and Country. 

Mildred is survived by her husband, Leonard Peters; son, Royce Peters and wife, Tammy Kemp Peters; and granddaughter, McKenzie Peters; brother, R. Kenneth McKenzie and wife, Virginia Dresser McKenzie; nephew, Ken McKenzie; and niece, Karen McKenzie Reese. 

Funeral: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, at North Side Baptist Church. 

Burial: Oakland Cemetery. 

Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
