Monty Ray Singletary, age 90 of Weatherford, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019 surrounded by his family. Monty was born December 2, 1928 in Long Camp, Texas to Dale and Mary (Tommy) Singletary. As a young man, he joined the armed forces and proudly severed his country in the United States Navy and could often be found looking for a boxing match to participate in. Upon retirement, his main job was keeping up with "the place"- mowing, farming and riding his tractors. He loved spending time with his family, reading (especially world records books and facts), talking with his friends at the Ranger Stop, solving riddles and completing puzzles. He was a jokester and was always scheming up tricks to play on his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a member of South Main Church of Christ and made friends everywhere he went.
