Nancy Jeanice Benton, “Great–nanny Moo Moo”, 70, of Weatherford, passed away Wednesday, February 28, in Weatherford.
Visitation will be held from 6 until 7 P.M., Friday, March 2, at the Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street in Weatherford with funeral services held at 7 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
Nancy was born January 8, 1948 in Cleveland, Mississippi to Floyce and Ellen Barrentine. Nancy’s passion and devotion in life was always to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed country dancing, working crossword puzzles, reading and Face-Booking. Nancy will be remembered for her ‘spunk, sassiness, and her quick-wit sense of humor.’ She was known to be outspoken in things that were important to her. Nancy will be remembered for her ‘servant heart’, her nurturing, and for sharing her love to friends and family through feeding everyone.
Nancy is survived by her husband, Roy Benton; children, Pamela McGee, Myra (Allen) Davis, Kevin McGee, and Wade (Amanda) McGee; step-children, Sally (Kevin) Constant, David (Patty) Benton, Sharon (Calvin) Woody, and Connie (Allen) Gresham; by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and by her siblings, Betty McKnight, Ruby Mc Knight, and Johnny, Jimmy, and Bobby Barrentine.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her grandson, Dylan McGee and by her brothers, James and Bill Barrentine.
