Nellie Jo Holloway

Sister Nellie Holloway passed from this life on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, in Weatherford, Texas.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, December 9th, at East Bankhead Church of Christ beginning at 10:00 a.m., and followed by burial at Mount Marion in Strawn, Texas. Sunday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., a visitation will be held at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.

Nellie was born on August 27, 1928, in Navarro County to the late Joe and Alpha Harrison Fowler. She married the late Winfred McCoy and together they had two children. Nellie worked in a sewing factory for twenty-five years. After the passing of Winfred, on July 7, 1997 Nellie married Edwin “Poochy” Holloway. She was a true Christian woman, mother, and caretaker to all who would allow her to be.

Sister Nellie Jo Holloway was preceded in death by her first husband, Winfred McCoy; second husband, Edwin Holloway; daughter, Nellie Ann; mother, Alpha Fowler; father, Joe Fowler; brothers, Ed Lee Fowler and Wilburn Fowler; and sister, Juanita Collins.

Survivors include son, Tony McCoy (Barbara); two step-sons, John Holloway (Dorothy) and Ben Holloway (Toni); three step daughters, Bernice Polk (Michael), Cynthya Dupree (Tommy) and Joyce Tehrani (Mehdi); one brother, Lython Fowler (Sandy); sisters, Margaret Wehrmann, Diarie Ellies, Peggy Horvath (Sam), Lillian Sipes (Rick), Gracie Egbert, Linda Berry, and Judy Ryan (Ray); thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great-grandchildren, and over fifty nieces and nephews.
