Nelly Jane Carter

Nelly Jane Carter age 78 of Weatherford died Sunday, October 13, 2013 in Panama City, Florida.
Jane was born December 7, 1934 in Parker County. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother.  She loved her family, and the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a member of Harmony Baptist Church. She married Leslie Carter on August 17, 1952. She worked at J. C. Pennys, Weatherford College, and the Pythian Home, before retiring.
She was preceded in death by her husband and best friend of 60 years, Leslie Carter; dad, Clarence Thompson; mother, Loree Butler; brothers, Roy Armstrong, Bob Armstrong and Edwin Armstrong; parents-in-law Leonard and Elda Carter; grandson, Edwin Carter, and an infant granddaughter.
Survivors: Children, Louis and Marcy Carter, Gail and Floyd Hull and Dianna Armstrong, all of Weatherford and Allen and Laura Carter of Mineral Wells; sisters, Dorthy Noe and Kathy and Glen Densmore; brothers, Wayne and Nell Thompson and Donald and Lois Thompson all of Weatherford, also Leslie and Trish Thompson of Lubbock, TX and Darrell Armstrong of Parker, Arizona; sisters-in-law, Fern and Bill Cox of Joshua, Revay and Rusty Bullock and Donice Nichols all of Weatherford; fourteen grandkids, twenty-eight great grandkids and three great great grandkids.

A funeral service will be held Friday at 2 PM at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.  Burial will be in Johnson Cemetery.  Visitation is from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
