Nimrod Poppy Jones

Nimrod “Poppy” Jones, 73, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012.  Poppy was born December 16, 1938 in Romance, West Virginia to Alton Delbert and Julia Shamblin Jones. Poppy retired from the United States Marine Corp.  He was a diesel Mechanic, enjoyed woodworking and loved his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Patty; three daughters, Cathy Lamica and husband, Ron Jim of Jacksonville, NC, Sharon Bransom and husband, Jim of Weatherford and Patty Ann Wright and husband, Thea of Ocean City, Maryland; two sons, Roy Jones and wife, Anita of Durham, North Carolina and Duane Campbell of Kannapolis, North Carolina; two sisters and four brothers, eight grandchildren, Nicole Pierce, Michele Henderson, Jesse Branson, Jamie Bransom, Tyler Wright, Eric Wright, Ryne Jones and Jessica Jones and three great grandchildren, Trey, Evie and Logan.
 
 

A service will be held at 12:30 PM, Friday at the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery.
