Nina Jean Howell

Nina Jean Howell, 81, of Weatherford, passed away Thursday morning, March 23, 2017 in Weatherford.
Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 11 A.M., on Monday, March 27, at the Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be held Sunday afternoon, March 26, from 3 until 6 at the funeral home. Burial will be private at Brock Cemetery.
Nina was born on October 10, 1935, in Brock, Texas to Harv and Bessie Johnson. She was a 1954 graduate of Brock High School where she was quite athletic and excelled in basketball. Nina was a life-time member of the Brock United Methodist Church and served her church in many capacities especially as a young adult in the choir & as Youth Director. Her work career included early jobs at General Dynamics and Buick Corp, then finally retiring in 2003 with over 30 years at TXI which she always balanced with attending the school & sports events of her three children.
She had a voracious love for reading & visiting her siblings. In her retirement years she developed a love for Major League Baseball (esp the Texas Rangers) along with occasional visits to Winstar. Most of all, Nina loved her family and will be remembered as a loving & devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, daughter, and aunt.
Nina is survived by her children, David and Stephanie Warren, Stephen and Kimberly Warren, and Terri Warren Wallace; grandchildren, Whitney, Peyton, Michael, Steven, Rachel, Rebekah, Michelle, Jason, Brandon, and Jennifer; sixteen great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, James Monroe “Sonny” Johnson; and by her loving niece, Debra “Deb” Moore; and by her loving nephews, Eddie, Ricky, Donny, Monty Johnson and Lonnie and John Shrum and James Johnson.
In addition to her parents, Nina was preceded in death by her husbands, Terry Lee “Henry” Warren and Joe Ray Howell; and by her siblings, Wilma Johnson-Alexander and Howard Franklin Johnson.
