Nona Faye (Redma) Taylor, 91 of Weatherford, TX, passed in her home on Monday, February 26, 2018. She was born September 21, 1926 in Weatherford, TX, to the late Cadimus and Edna Lilly Kelly Harrell as the 6th of 10 children. Growing up on the family farm she established her work ethic at an early age from picking cotton to caring for her siblings which prepared her for the 5 daughters she was later blessed with. Diana, Charlotte, Karen, Jacquelyn, and Marcia were her greatest accomplishments. Raising the “Fab 5”, mostly on her own, helped mold her into the strong woman she is known to be. No matter how challenging times were, she always managed to look like a million bucks. Outside of her careers, she was the family beautician, seamstress, and care taker. Better known as the “glue” of the family, she enjoyed her time in the kitchen cooking and baking for her loved ones. She also enjoyed the home shopping network to buy her many jewels.
She is survived by her sister, Joann Fowler with husband Herbert of Weatherford, TX, daughter Karen Harris of Weatherford, TX, and daughter Marcia Pels with husband Randy of Pilot Point, TX, 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great grandchild, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Phillip Harry Taylor; brothers, Don, Jay, Lloyd, Roy Cadimus “R.C.” and Marvin “Chubby” Harrell; sisters, Earline Parks, Margaret Terry and Ruth Miller; and daughters, Diana Williams, Charlotte Gray, and Jacquelyn Bailey.
Graveside service will be held on Friday, March 2, 2018 at 2 pm at East Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford, TX. Services are under the direction of Galbreaith Pickard Funeral home.
