Nona Jean Garner, 95, departed from this life on Sunday, December 10, 2023. She was born August 16, 1928, in Trinidad, Colorado, to Michael Walsh and Mary (Adams) Walsh. Nona was of the Baptist faith. She was a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed dedicating herself as a homemaker who loved cooking and feeding her family. When she could, Nona enjoyed watching Game Shows, her favorite being The Wheel of Fortune.
Nona was preceded in death by her husband, J.D. Garner; son-in-law, John Kirkland; great-great grandson, Zayde Khan; parents, Michael and Mary Walsh; brothers, Mike and John Walsh; and uncle, Frank Adams.
Nona is survived by her daughter, Pam Kirkland; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Karen Garner; son, Mike Garner; grandchildren, Pam Gomez and Ty Garner; great-granddaughter and husband, Kaitlynn and Cooper Warren; great-granddaughter and husband, Lauren and Sajid Khan; great-granddaughters, Hunter Gomez and Averie Gomez; great-great grandchildren, Colt Warren, Konnor Warren, Emma Khan, and a great-great granddaughter who is due in February 2024, Isabel Khan; sister-in-law, Betty Walsh; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation is from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 13, 2023, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086.
A funeral ceremony will be held at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, officiated by James Plowman. Serving as pallbearers are Mark Garner, Mike Garner, Ty Garner, Cooper Warren, Juston Ray, Kolby Hoffman, and Chandler Duncan. Interment will follow at Memory Gardens of the Valley Cemetery, Weatherford, Texas.
