Patrick Daniel Ellis

Patrick Daniel Ellis, 76, of Weatherford passed away on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at his residence. He was born August 9, 1945 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to James Donald and Vera Pauline Conrad Ellis. Dan attended Oklahoma State University where he received his bachelor’s degree, then obtained his PhD from Rice University. After completing his education, he enjoyed a twenty-nine year career as a petroleum engineer before retiring.

Throughout his life, Dan enjoyed many hobbies, including softball, golf, hunting, and fishing. He was active as a leader in the Cub and Boy Scouts.

He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Joyce; his son and daughter-in-law, Jason Ellis and Jennifer Bahrs; his daughter, April Knaus; grandchildren, Morgan Ellis and Patrick Knaus; his sister and brother-in-law, Cherie and Jack Kendrick, and his brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Sharon Ellis.

In accordance with his wishes, his ashes will be scattered at Ouzel Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park in the summer of 2022.
