Paul James Boatman passed away at age 73 on Thursday, March 10, 2022. Paul was born on November 27, 1948, in St. Paul, MN to Paul Martin Boatman and Virginia Siatta.
He shared 38 wonderful years of marriage to his lovely wife, Marcia Pauline Boatman. Together, they raised eight children. Paul earned his bachelor's degree and was an engineer for Lockheed where he later retired after 37 years. He was best known for his incredibly friendly and kind nature. He never met a stranger. He found joy in simple pleasures, like singing in six different languages, playing the accordion and sharing a good laugh with both new and old friends. Paul was quite the storyteller, as he had an amazing ability to paint vivid images through his detailed stories and jokes. He simply loved to make people laugh. Paul enjoyed taking family vacations and spending quality time with his kids and grandkids. Paul was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Parish, and the Knights of Columbus. During his stay at James L. West Alzheimer Center, he built strong relationships with many staff and visitors who loved and adored him. Paul was a joyful and affectionate man that loved his family dearly. He will be missed by all.
Paul was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Pat Boatman and Tom Boatman.
Paul is survived by his wife, Marcia Boatman; children, Patrick Michael Boatman (Robin), Terri Christine Kimmel (Matt), Paul Christopher Boatman (Tisha), Joshua Andrew Boatman (Jessica), Mary Claire Boatman, Jason Scott Ruth (Peili), Kathryn Elaine Schroeder (Kurstan), and Elizabeth Anne Boatman (Joe); siblings, Timm Boatman, Sharon Casey, and Mark Boatman.
