Paula Nell Shaw

Paula Nell Shaw, 64, passed away recently at her home in Sacramento, California. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the Authon Cemetery, near Weatherford, Texas. Paula was born August 22, 1944 in Childress, Texas to Arvil B. and Leanna Bloss Shaw, both former Childress County teachers. All of Paula’s school years were spent in Childress. She graduated with honors from Childress High School in 1962. Paula attended Texas Tech University and later earned a Bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. She continued postgraduate studies at Purdue and the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and American University in Sacramento, California. Paula served in the U.S. Army Reserves and worked for the Social Security Administration in California until her retirement. Paula was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Mary Helen, who died in infancy. Survivors include numerous cousins and a host of friends.
