Peggy Diane Clifford Henry

February 7, 1951 — January 13, 2020

Peggy Diane Clifford Henry of Weatherford, Texas, passed away January 13th, 2020, at the age of 68, just three weeks shy of turning 69. She fought her battle with cancer fiercely, with dignity and grace until her last breath while undergoing treatment away from home in Laguna Hills, California.

Peggy was born in Visalia, California, on February 7th, 1951, to Basil Robnett Fishback and Clyda Mae (West) Fishback. She grew up in Saratoga, California, and graduated from Saratoga High School, class of 1969. Immediately following high school she studied nursing at University of Hawaii, Oahu, but left to start a family and her most important job of all, being a home maker and mother to her children.

During her homemaking career she also had a variety of occupations in sales, real estate, and as a small business owner. As an empty-nester she went back to school and graduated from Saddleback College Nursing Program in Mission Viejo, California. She had an esteemed nursing career that started in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at St. Judes in Mission Viejo, California and later became an OR nurse when she moved to Texas in 2006. She retired from nursing in the spring of 2019.

Peggy found her church home at Gateway Church, in Southlake, Texas. She was involved in many church activities, fund raisers and charities. She had a way of pouring her deep love of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and speaking life into those in spiritual need around her.

Peggy had a lifelong passion for sailing and swimming in tropical seas with crystal blue waters and skiing the slopes of freshly powdered mountains. She also enjoyed golfing and spending as much time as she possibly could with with her dearest friends and family. The children of her friends and the friends of her children all refer to Peggy as their second mom.

Peggy was the kind of spouse, mother and friend, who would drop everything to come to the rescue. Peggy will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew her. She and her amazing legacy will be forever remembered for her infectious smile, good sense of humor, stunning beauty and class.

Peggy is survived by her husband of three years, Leon A. Henry; her children, Lance Randall Clifford and Ryan James Clifford; her “daughter-in-love” as she liked to call her, Zsanett Baranyai Clifford; her step daughters, Abrial (Henry) Henderson and her husband, AJ Henderson, and Allison Henry; her step daughters from a prior marriage, Brittney Elizabeth (Dabney) Albano and her husband, Louis Albano, and Brookes Lindsey (Dabney) Helmer and her husband, Patrick Helmer; her grandchildren, Connor Jackson Clifford, William West Clifford, and Poppy Elizabeth Helmer; her sister, Susan (Fishback) Altmann and her husband, Joseph Altmann; her brother, John West Fischbach; her sister-in-law, Lorraine Henry; her niece, Shauna Nanez; her nephews, James West Fischbach and Jordan Alexander Fischbach.

She was predeceased by her mother, Clyda Mae (West) Fishback, her father, Basil Robnett Fishback, and the father of her two sons, Randall L. Clifford.

A visitation is scheduled from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Sunday, January 19, 2020, and a funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., on Monday, January 20, 2020, both at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, Weatherford Texas.
