Philip Ray Lawrence, 72, went to his heavenly home on Thursday, June 15, 2023. He was born July 30, 1950, in California to Berlin and Ruth Lawrence. On February 24, 1973, he married Jane Hanlon, with whom he spent 50 wonderful years in marriage. Philip was the son of a milkman, and he came from very humble beginnings. He worked hard on his education, getting his master’s degree in business administration from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. His resiliency drove him in his career to become Vice President of Procurement at ITT. He then went on to work for Lockheed Martin; they were the provision for God to move him to Texas in 2001. Phil was blessed to have his family relocate to Texas as well. He retired in 2018. Philip was a member of North Side Baptist Church for over 20 years. He became a licensed minister and was very passionate about discipling others. He would minister to anyone, anytime, and anywhere he went. He loved Jesus, his family, and God's people, also anything chocolate. Philip will be missed dearly by all that were blessed to know and love him.
Philip was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, James Lawrence. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Jane Lawrence; son, Matthew Lawrence and wife, Trinity; daughter, Sarah Maxwell; and grandchildren, Jordan Thomas and husband, Christian, Piper Lawrence, Jesse McCaslin, Jeremiah McCaslin, and Penelope Lawrence.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at North Side Baptist Church, with burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family would love for donations to be made in his honor to The Association of Frontotemporal Degeneration or The Alzheimer's Association.
