Prentice Byron "Barney" Smith

Prentice Byron “Barney” Smith, age 92, of Weatherford, died Sunday evening, November 21, 2010 in a local nursing facility,  Born November 16, 1918 in Oakland City, Indiana, a resident of Weatherford and Parker County for manyyears. He was a Veteran of World II, Korean and Vietnam War.  Barney servedas Air Force Tail Gunner and Senior Master Sergeant.   He was a member of the Hilltop Baptist Church, Shriners, Masonic Phoenix Lodge, Weatherford Whirlaways Square Dance Club and the AARP. . He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine  “Jerri” Smith on October 27, 2010. Survivors:sons – Mitchell Smith and wife, Debbie of Weatherford Rodney Smith and wife, Cindy of White Settlement,  Joe Smith and wife, Frankie of Weatherford,grandchildren – Jeff, Jay, Brian, Jeffrey, Jake, Logan, Devon Smith; 2 Great GrandchildrenFuneral service will be held at 2 PM, Wednesday, November 24, 2010in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel with interment in East Greenwood Cemetery.  Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in charge of arrangements,Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Tuesday, November 23, 2010 at the funeral home.
