Ray D. Rumfield, Sr., 83, passed away on October 13, 2019 in Weatherford, Texas.
A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Weatherford beginning at 1:00 pm followed by burial at Memory Gardens Cemetery. A visitation will be held Tuesday evening at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Ray was born on August 26, 1936 to the late George and Muriel Evatt Rumfield in Fort Worth, Texas. He grew up with two brothers, Bill and Gene. In 1956, Ray married the love of his life, Barbara Alexander. Together they had two children, Ray and Dennis. He enjoyed fishing and all things sports, especially baseball. As a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Weatherford, Ray enjoyed participating in different activities there. Ray was known as a gentle and kind man with lots of love to give. He was a God-fearing man and enjoyed bringing happiness to others and helping anyone he could any chance he had.
Ray is preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara; son, Dennis; and brothers.
Survivors include his son, Ray Rumfield Jr.; niece, Lola Parker Kruse; and a loving church family.
