Raymond Scott Broumley

October 13, 1932 — July 29, 2019

Raymond Scott “Scotty” Broumley passed away on July 29, 2019. He was born October 13, 1932, in Fort Worth, to Raymond and Laverne Broumley. He was raised in and around Parker County and graduated from Aledo High School. After high school, he attended Abilene Christian College until he was drafted. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy and married the love of his life, Evelyn Wiley. After his naval service, they returned to Parker County to raise their children and to operate a dairy. He sold his dairy business in 1975. Scotty then became one of the first employees of Power Service and worked there until his retirement. Upon retirement, he spent his time fishing, exploring the United States with his wife and brother and sister-in-law, and enjoying his family. Scotty was an avid fisherman and loved exploring new lakes all over Texas and sharing his love of fishing with his children and grandchildren. His proudest moments were teaching his grandchildren to fish, and teaching them to love the wildlife, and the outdoors. He was a family man, first and foremost, and instilled that importance in his children and grandchildren. He served as a perfect example of a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, uncle and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Evelyn and brother, Jim Broumley.
He is survived by children: Mark (Nancy) Broumley of Weatherford, Karen Pacheco of Justin, and Wesley (Beverly) Broumley of Sulphur Springs; grandchildren: Jennifer (Chris) Kristufek, Catherine (Douglas) Lukasik, Scotty Pacheco, Courtney Pacheco, Eric Pacheco, Jake (Liz) Broumley, and Jentri (Ryan) Guthrie; great grandchildren: David, Rylie, Dane, Devin, Elizabeth, Natalie, Beau, Mallory, Judson and Emerson; sister in law, Virgene Broumley; many nieces and nephews; and special high school friend, Joe Alice Wickizer, whom he reconnected with a few years ago which made his final years brighter.
Visitation will be at Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N Elm, Weatherford on August 1, 2019, 6-8 pm. Funeral Services will be at Aledo Church of Christ on August 2, 2019 at 10 am with burial to follow at Brown Cemetery in Aledo.
