Rex Don Williams, 91, passed into the arms of his Heavenly Father on December 6, 2021 after a short struggle with a brain tumor.
He was born and lived all of his life in Weatherford. He graduated from Weatherford High School and married Edna Pearl Pritchard, to whom he was married for more than seventy years.
He worked as a painting foreman for much of his life, committing to Ft. Worth and Dallas. He and his wife invested in rental property and eventually he began flipping houses before it was a thing. He was a faithful member and deacon at North Side Baptist Church. He enjoyed music very much (especially listening to his wife and daughter playing the piano). He loved to travel and adored animals, especially a succession of pet dogs. In his time he had pet rabbits, a pet horse, and even a pair of quails that hung around the country house. He built four houses from the ground up, two for two sisters in law and two for his wife.
He is survived by two daughters, Janice Carpenter, husband Danny; Sherri Ramsay, husband Greg; and by son, Barry Williams. Grandchildren include Jean Marie Lopez, Anton Williams, Rachel Carpenter and Bradley Carpenter. Great Grandchildren include Nikos Lopez, Diego Lopez, Isaiah Lopez and Cooper Williams. Don is also survived by a sister Colleen Williams of Fort Worth and several nieces and nephews.
Don was preceded in death by wife Edna, his parents Jeff & Rexie Williams, a brother Jeff Edward and a sister Marjorie Winstead.
A funeral will be held at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel on Thursday, December 9, at 10:00 AM with burial to follow. Visitation Wednesday, December 8, at 6:30 PM.
