Rhonal Palmon Phillips

Rhonal Palmon Phillips “Rip”, 80, died at 2:30 PM, Tuesday, December 30, 2008 in Tyler. Born May 8, 1928 in Poolville, TX where he was raised. He attended Poolville schools graduating from Poolville High School. He later attended Weatherford Junior College to play Basketball, where he earned his bragging rights when his team played the Harlem Globe Trotters. Rip was an avid fisherman, loving husband, father and grandfather. As said by Rev. Mike Matlock “All you had to do is meet “Rip” to know he was a good Christian man”   He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Gwynlune Phillips; five children, Millie Flippin of Garner, Rebecca Jean Howard of Weatherford, Jeffery Paul Phillips of Weatherford, Ronda Brabson of Dennis and Ronnie G. Haley of Weatherford; 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. 

Memorial service: 2:00 PM, Saturday January 3, 2009 at Poolville First Baptist Church with Rev. Howard James officiating. 

Visitation: 6-8 PM, Friday, January 2, 2009 in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
