Richard Arnold Nelson

Richard Arnold Nelson, age 95, passed from this life to his Eternal Home on Monday, December 20, 2021, in Weatherford, TX. Richard was born on November 16, 1926, in Crookston, MN to Ray W. Nelson and Hannah M. (Hulst) Nelson. He honorably served in the United States Army. Richard was a retired minister, having spent a total of 42 years preaching the gospel and serving as pastor of several churches, including 16 years as pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church of Weatherford. He was a devout Christian and love his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his family.

In addition to his parents, Richard is preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Eleonore Nelson, in 2014, and by his brother, Roger Nelson.

Left to cherish Richard's memory and legacy are his loving family: sons, Frank Nelson, John Nelson, Paul Nelson, Mark Nelson, Bryan Clark, and Allen Clark; daughter, Mary Jennings; sisters, Marjorie Schaumburg and Marsha Swingdorf; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and other extended family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 23, 2021, at the Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, Weatherford, TX 76086, with interment to follow in Holly Hills Memorial Park, 1900 FM 51, Granbury, TX 76048.
