Richard Douglas Worth, 85, of Weatherford, passed away Sunday evening, July 16, at Community Hospice in Fort Worth.
Visitation will be held at Galbreaith-Pickard Hilltop Chapel in Willow Park on Thursday, July 20, 2017, from 5 until 8 P.M. with the Rosary recited at 7. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 A.M., on Friday, July 21, 2017, at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in Aledo. Burial will be take place at 2:30 P.M., on Monday, July 24, at DFW National Cemetery in Dallas with Military Rites.
Richard was born on June 24, 1932 in Wilton, New York to William and Marjorie Worth. He proudly served his country with a distinguished military career in the U.S. Army. Richard served two tours in Vietnam and later as an Army Recruiter. He was a member of the American Legion and was a Disabled Veteran. Richard loved out-door activities including hunting and fishing. He was a long-time member of the Weatherford Lake Association. He will affectionately be remembered for being a “Dad” to many. Most of all, Richard cherished time spent with his family – particularly his children and grandchildren.
Richard is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Michelle (Blake) Smith, Patty (ABob) Combe, Chuck Reese, Warren (Cynthia) Worth, and Chris (Michelle) Reese; grandchildren, Phillip, Caitlin, Carson, Amanda, Andrew, Brooke, Taylor, Hayden, Grayson, Cooper, Cody and Colton, his sister, Margie Zigo, and by his two brothers, John and David Worth.
In addition to this parents, Richard was preceded in death by his brothers, Wilmont and James Worth.
