Ricky Wayne Howell, Sr.

April 2, 1961 — September 29, 2023

Ricky Wayne Howell, Sr. gained his Angel wings, at 62 years of age, on September 29, 2023, surrounded by his mother, children, and closest loved ones.

Ricky was a graduate of Granbury High School, where he was a star football player for the Granbury Pirates. After graduation, he would follow in his father’s footsteps and become the owner of Howell Trucking. After retiring from the trucking industry, he became a volunteer for the Parker County Center of Hope, where he touched many people’s lives with his joyful laughter, smiles, and helping heart. He was a man of Christ and gave God’s love to all who knew him.

Ricky was the biggest Dallas Cowboy fan, and you can bet as soon as he got through the gates of Heaven and met his loved ones that he went and found Tom Landry so they could work on a plan to get the Cowboys back to the Superbowl. He loved hollering, "How ‘bout them Cowboys?" Win or lose the Cowboys were his and God's team, and he let everyone know it.

Ricky's heart and soul were his children. From the day he became a father to his last moment, he loved being a dad, and his children knew that he would do anything he could for them. His friends and family all felt love from his loving heart, and we are all sure his heart is beaming with abundant love and joy in Heaven now.

Ricky is survived by his four children: son, Ricky Howell, Jr. (wife, Erica), daughter, Cherisse Glaze (husband, Bryce), daughter, Jennifer Howell, and daughter, Jessica Mayhall, all of Weatherford, Texas; his mother, Lou Ann Howell of Weatherford; two siblings: sister, Tammy White (husband, Teddy) of Millsap, Texas, and sister, Debbie Childers of Weatherford; nine grandsons; eight granddaughters; one great grandson; several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, cousins, and even more friends; and his true love and mother of his children, Lisa Howell.

Ricky was preceded in death by his daddy, Norman Howell; grandparents, G.W. and Lou Jaun Howell; grandmother, Lula Russell; and son, Christopher Howell.

The family will accept visitors on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086.
