Robert was born on June 25, 1941, in Parker County to Clyde and Lucille Harwell. He dedicated his life to Christ at the age of 14. Robert proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam period and served aboard the aircraft carrier USS Ranger from 1961 to 1966. He had a passion for sharing and teaching his knowledge of air conditioning and cooling systems. Robert enjoyed County Western Dancing and playing his steel guitar. He will affectionately be remembered for his ‘unique sense of humor’ and for ‘his outgoing personality and always willing to help others in need.’ In his later years, Robert had a passion for traveling to places “off the beaten path.” Most of all, Robert cherished time spent with his family – particularly his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Robert is survived by his children, Gena (Ken) Brown, Kevin (Tamara) Harwell, Eric (Rufina) Harwell, Nathan (Kassi) Harwell; grandchildren, Cooper (Megan) Brown, Cole (Emily) Harwell, Lacy (Josh) Nelms and Jacob Brown; his great-grandchildren, Chloe Pharr and Noah Brown, Brody Nelms and Kylie Nelms; and by his sisters, Nita Smith and Betty (Travis) Ringo-Massingill.
