Robert "Bob" Berkey

Robert “Bob” Berkey, 60, gained his angel wings on Sunday, February 19, 2023. Bob was born on April 17, 1962, in Denver, Colorado to Robert and Carol Berkey. Bob graduated from Lakewood High School in Lakewood, Colorado. He moved to Texas with the Maddox family in 1983. Bob deeply loved the family and considered Linda Maddox as his bonus mom.

Bob was a rock to his life partner, Debbie Carney. They built a beautiful life together, as well as, successful businesses. His work ethic was remarkable and he took pride in everything he put his hands to. Bob built a career as a master plumber and was the youngest master plumber to get his license in the State of Texas in 1984.

Bob’s sense of humor was one of a kind, he had the most infectious laugh and his smile would brighten the darkest room! Then there were those socks! His unique fashion style was playful and unforgettable. Bob never met a stranger and was dearly loved by his community!

Bob was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to mountains anytime he could get away. In addition, his active lifestyle took him on bike rides and onto the pickle ball court. Bob was a fierce pickle ball competitor where he gained many friends. He was a member of the PCEA and was on the Parker County Pickle Ball Board.

LoBo, Gus, Doc, and Cami are the dearly loved companions of Bob. Whether Bob was working or playing the dogs went with him everywhere! The connections Bob made in his life were meaningful and deliberate. He had a deep faith and love for his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Bob will be incredibly missed by so many!!!

Bob is survived by his beloved wife, Debbie Carney of Weatherford, Texas; step daughters, Jamie Rice, and Jenna and Jose Rivera both of Rochester, New York; nine grandchildren; siblings, Rhonda Diaz of Lakewood, Colorado, Cindy Sampson of Windsor, Colorado, and Richard Berkey of Denver, Colorado; three nieces and three nephews; and many, many other family and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his mom, Carol Berkey; his dad, Robert Berkey; and his bonus mom, Linda Maddox.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 25, 2023, in Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 North Elm Street, Weatherford, Texas.
