Robert Eldon Mason

Robert Eldon Mason, 83, of Weatherford, passed away Thursday morning, February 27, 2020, in Fort Worth, Texas.

Visitation will be held Monday evening, March 2, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:30 p.m., at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford. A graveside committal service will be held Tuesday, March 3, at 11:00 a.m., at Spring Creek Cemetery, south of Weatherford.

Robert was born April 12, 1936, in Van Alstyne, Texas, to Thomas and Juanita Mason. He devoted his career to serving his country in the U.S. Navy. Robert enjoyed working on cars, wood craft and sculpturing. Robert enjoyed coaching baseball and was a huge Texas Rangers fan. Most of all, Robert enjoyed spending time with his family.

Robert is survived by his sons, James Robert (Sharon) Mason, Thomas Eldon (Ronda) Mason and Richard Lee (Jeanne) Mason; his grandchildren, Michelle Mason, Michael Mason, Brandi Mason-Rimer, Jeffrey Lashley, Kim Lairmore-Pressler and Michael Lairmore; great-grandchildren, Paige, Radyn, Brooklyn, Chasyn, Maddox, Elizabeth, Logan, Ava Grace and Lincoln; and by his siblings, Neva Joyce Ashley, Mable Fuller, Lois Flynn, Vita McPhearson, Ruth Bryant, Lonnie Mason, Rodger Mason and James Mason.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; his granddaughter, Evelyn Orgeron; and by his brothers, Donald Ray, Jonnie, Jack Jr., Thomas Charles, and David Lee Mason; and by his sisters, Jean Chaney, Ida Mae Harmon, and Jessie Harmon.
