Robert Bill McClure, 72, of Weatherford, passed away early Wednesday morning September 15, 2010, in a Fort Worth hospital. Bill was born August 17, 1938, in Weatherford, Texas, to Lewis Elmer and Mandy Lorene Light McClure. He was a retired business owner, a member of the Church of Christ and a veteran of the United States Military serving in two branches, the Army and Air Force, for two years each. Bill enjoyed traveling, flying planes, fishing and hunting.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Junior, Edmond Jack “EJ,” and James D. McClure; and sister, Martha Reeder.
Survivors include: wife, Veronica “Ronnie” McClure; daughter, Danielle Ames and husband, Anthony; son, Robert Dean McClure and Jolene Alexander; sisters, Linda Mason, Lillie Singletary, Mildred Dygert, and Virginia Collins, all of Weatherford, and Vickie Childress of Clarksville; grandchildren, Brandon and Tara Ames, Kaden and Kaitlin Alexander, and Ella McClure.
Funeral service: 10:00 a.m., Saturday September 18, 2010, at South Main Church of Christ, with interment to follow in the Greenwood Community Cemetery.
Visitation: 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, in the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel.
