Lt. Col Robert Charles Osborne, (Oz), 86, of Weatherford, passed away Saturday, February 25, 2017. He was born in Buffalo, NY, on December 23, 1930, to George and Bertha Osborne. Oz was a loving husband and father and served his country for 20 years in the US Air Force. He was both a fighter pilot and recon pilot and was stationed in many places all over the country and abroad like Japan, Thailand, Turkey and Alaska. He loved flying! Oz led an amazing life beyond the military also…fly fishing, boating, hunting, golfing and travel. Oz retired from the US Air Force in Austin, Texas. He was a resident of both Austin, Texas and Port Aransas, Texas; traveling between both cities for a decade. He moved to Weatherford two years ago to be closer to family.
Oz is preceded in death by his loving wife, Irene.
Oz is survived by his daughter, Patty Allen and husband Charles; grand-daughters, Tracy Clay and Samantha Allen; and by four beautiful great-grandchildren. Additionally, he had two step-daughters, Michelle Kalman and Christie Wright and their families.
Services will be private in New York at a later date.
