Rodney Dean Smith

Rodney Dean Smith, 67, of Weatherford, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 16, 2021, at his home.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., on Thursday, April 22, 2021, at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford. A graveside committal service will be held at 12 Noon, on Friday, April 23, at East Greenwood Cemetery, in Weatherford.

Rodney was born on November 26, 1953, on Fairchild AFB in Spokane, Washington to Prentice and Geraldine Smith. He married Cindy Harris on January 17, 2006. An avid motorcycle buff, Rodney a retired member of the Wino’s Crew Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed vacations to Norway and to the beach – particularly to Corpus Christi, Texas. Rodney went out of his way to look after his friends and employees. Most of all, Rodney cherished his family and being a “Paw Paw.”

Rodney is survived by his wife, Cindy; his children, Heather and husband, Tony Helton, and Jeremy and wife, Aleisha Choate; his grandchildren, Madisyn Choate, Cash Mata, Emery Helton, Brody Choate, Bryce Choate, and Brock Choate; his brothers, Mitch and wife, Debbie Smith, and Joe and wife, Frankie; and by his nephews, Jeff and wife, Mendy, Jay, Brian, Jacob and wife, Megan, Logan and husband, Corey, and Devon; and by numerous friends.

Rodney was preceded in death by his parents.
