Roger Barton Harris, Sr., 78, of Millsap, Texas, passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at College Park Rehab facility. Roger, AKA: Double R, Pawpaw, Daddy, was born in Aledo, Texas, on December 23, 1942, to the late William Barton Harris and Janie Blanche Arnold.
Roger loved to deer hunt, garden, fish, raise chickens, bowl, and play softball. Children were so entertained with his ability to talk like Donald Duck and by his perfect imitation of a train whistle. He was a hard working man, and you would always find him outside. Above all, he loved his family: his children, his grandchildren, his great grandchildren, and his Georgene, who God placed in his path to show him how fun life could be.
He is survived by brothers, Sherman, Victor, and Donald Harris; sisters, Loretta, Verda, and Irene; children, Leesa, Melody, Rusty, and Tracy; 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; sister, Jean; and grandson, Ryan.
A viewing and visitation will be held in Weatherford at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Home, Tuesday, November 23rd, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held in Millsap, Texas, at Poe Prairie Cemetery, at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, November 24th.
