Roger Kirk Simpson

Roger K. Simpson, 80, of Weatherford, TX, passed away Saturday evening, December 3, 2016 at Harris Hospital SW in Fort Worth.

A funeral service celebrating his life will be held at 5 PM, on Saturday, December 10, at the Galbreaith-Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, Weatherford. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until the time of the service, Saturday afternoon, at the funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 11 A.M., on Monday, December 12, at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, in Dallas, Texas, with Military Rites.

Roger was born June 3, 1936, in Des Moines, Iowa to Glen and Laura Simpson. He married Ralda (Marian) Croucher and together had 3 children, Michelle, Lance, and Haley. He had an Air Force Career of over 21 years. Roger enjoyed flying Free Flight Airplanes. He was a long-time member of Trinity Bible Church in Weatherford. Most of all, Roger cherished time spent with his family – particularly his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Roger is survived by his wife, Ralda; children, Michelle (Mike) Nowakowski, Lance (Cindy) Simpson, and Haley (Kevin) Bushaw; his grandchildren, Mitch, Mandy, Mariah, and Marlee Nowakowski, Brian, Candice, Amber, Jamie and Kimberly Simpson, and Alyssa, Aubrie, and Kealey Bushaw; 18 great-grandchildren; and by his sister-in-law, Lynn Simpson.

In addition to his parents, Roger was preceded in death by his sister, Diane Foshe and by his twin brother, Reid Simpson.
