Ronadl Witt Hobbs

Ronald Witt Hobbs, age 79, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014 in Weatherford, Texas. 
Ronald was born November 14, 1934 to Buford and Wilna Martin Hobbs in Matador, Texas. He grew up in ranching country and loved visiting relatives out on the cow camps of Motley County.  He was an outstanding athlete and earned a full scholarship to the University of Texas in Austin for his skill on the baseball diamond. 
Ronnie was proud of the honor of being an active Master Mason of the Millsap Masonic Lodge as well as a Shriner.
An enthusiastic outdoorsman, Ronnie loved nothing better than teaching his children and grandchildren to hunt, fish and revere the natural world.
He loved the food and culture of the southern Louisiana area and was a great Cajun cook.
For 25 years, Ronnie worked as an auctioneer, and he never forgot a name.  He owned four auto auctions across Texas, and ended his career owning and operating Ronnie Hobbs Weatherford Auto Auction from 1994 to 2002.
Ronnie’s family will remember his sense of fun, his dancing ability and his knack for making every day an adventure.
He leaves behind his wife of 17 years, Annie Hobbs of Millsap; daughters, Julie Ann Nowling and husband, Gene of Samson Alabama, Deana Freelander and husband, Wayne of Alexandria, VA, Lisa Van Natter and husband, John of Fairfield, TX,  and Margaret Givler and husband, Michael of Weatherford, TX,  sons, Ronnie Wayne Hobbs and wife, Sherrill of Hemphill, TX,  and Clif Neal and wife, Sonja of Rabat, Morocco; eleven grandchildren and three great grandchildren; sister Judy Beth Brown and husband, Dave of Houston.

Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel at 2:00 p.m.  Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, Saturday July 19, 2014.  Interment will follow in Bethesda Cemetery in Garner, Texas with Pastor Scott Poyner officiating.
