Ronald Gene Daugherty

Ronald “Ron” Gene Daugherty, age 62, of Crowley, Texas, passed away Saturday, February 16, 2019. He was born to Gerald and Joan Daugherty in Parkersburg, West Virginia on February 19, 1956. Ron proudly served in the Air Force for 8 years. He entered the IT Industry in its infancy and was a Network Engineer for over 20 years. He was a gentle giant and a peacemaker. He lived to play basketball and spend time with his family. He was known as the one who could do or fix anything, which often was preceded with a blueprint. He was MacGyver, Bob Villa, Steve Martin, Michael Jordan , and a little Gandhi all rolled into one. His perfect evening was a movie with his little family and the family dogs. He was a member of the Oakridge Church of Christ in Willow Park, Texas.
Ron is survived by his wife, Shelley Daugherty and their son, Logan Daugherty, both of Crowley; mother and father, Joan and Charles Rogers of Kyle; brother, David Daugherty and his wife, Karen of Austin; brother, Michael Daugherty and his wife, Kim of Liberty Hill; sister, Pamela Miller and her husband, Denny of Leander; and brother, Keith Daugherty and his wife, Cheryl of Round Rock; grandsons, Colby Carithers of Weatherford, Texas and Joshua Broussard of Maurice, Louisiana. Ron is preceded in death by his son, Scott Joiner and by his father, Gerald Daugherty.
