Emblem

Ronald Ray Cason of Weatherford, Texas, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday April 1, 2020. Ron was born October 2, 1946, in Gainesville Texas. He served his country with the United States Air Force. He retired from Weatherford College Truck Driving Academy as a driving instructor.

Ron was always joking with people even if he didn’t know them. Didn’t matter if it was at Walmart or another place. He was always making people laugh. His favorite hobby was using his “eagle eye” to look for lost money and he was a Master at it. Pepaw loved his family and the many get togethers and many memories that he and his family would cherish always. He loved and adored his little dog Chigger. He was accused of loving him more than his wife.

Ron was a member of North Side Baptist Church where he served as a greeter every Sunday as well as security. He will be greatly missed by his friends and church family that passed through his door.

Ron was married to the love of his life, Jean Cason, November 1, 1980.

He was predeceased by his mother, Laura Cason; his father, Ray Cason; and sister, Donna Bass; and brother, Gary Cason, Sr.

He is survived by his wife, Jean Cason of 39 years, and his children, Karen Ann Edwards (Larry), David Nichols, Billy Nichols (Shelda). Also his beloved grandchildren, Nichele McGuffee, Krissy Ann Dickerson (Jason), Kayla Marie Vallejo (Pete), Austin Taylor Nichols (Susana), and nine great grandchildren. He was survived by his sisters, Bonna Burr and Mable Wheeler (Dean); and brothers, Jess Cason (Berniece) and Jim Cason (Nancy); and his step-mother, Hisako Cason; and many nieces and nephews.

Due to this unprecedented time, the family will have a private graveside and burial. We are saddened that our church family and friends cannot join us in the celebration of Ron’s life during this time.

Please know that we love every one of you and appreciate your prayers, out-pouring of love, texts, and calls.

Galbreath and Pickard Funeral Home is handling all arrangements. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to North Side Baptist Building Fund at 910 North Main Street, Weatherford, Texas 76086.
