Ronald "Ron" Lee Kearney

Ronald Lee Kearney, age 86, of Weatherford, passed away peacefully on September 8th, 2023. Born on June 12th, 1937, in Parkton, Maryland, Ronald led a life marked by hard work, love for family, and a heartwarming sense of humor.

In 1960, Ron married the love of his life, Mary, and then moved to Wichita Falls, Texas. They later moved to Grand Prairie in 1965 and finally settled in Weatherford in 1994, creating a lifetime of cherished memories in each place.

Throughout his life, Ronald wore many hats with pride and skill. Whether it was as an airplane mechanic, truck driver, or charismatic salesman, he approached each role with dedication and enthusiasm. Beyond his work, Ronald had a passion for woodworking, gardening, and fishing, skills and joys he passed down to his family.

Ronald was an active member of the Couts Methodist Men's Group, where he contributed his time, effort, and spirit. Those who had the pleasure of knowing him will remember Ronald's good humor, consistent willingness to lend a hand, and his dedication to helping others.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Kearney; daughter, Elaine Geyer; brother, Clint; sister, Doris; grandsons, Derek, Matthew, and Samuel; granddaughters, Anna and Jessica; and great-grandchildren, Eli, Ellie, and Ethan. Ronald's legacy will continue to live on through the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love he gave to all.

The Kearney family would like to invite friends and loved ones to celebrate Ron's life and share memories. His warmth, wisdom, and wit will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, September 19th, 2023, at Couts Memorial United Methodist Church, in Weatherford, Texas. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m., at Moore Memorial Gardens, in Arlington, Texas.
