Roy William Shaw

Roy William Shaw, 90, of Weatherford, passed away early on Tuesday morning, December 11, 2018.
Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 1:30, Friday, December 14, at North Side Baptist Church, 910 N, Main Street, in Weatherford. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens west of Weatherford. Visitation will be held from at 6 until 8., Thursday evening, at Galbreath Pickard Funeral Chapel, 913 N. Elm Street, in Weatherford.
Roy was born March 4, 1928, in Garner, Texas to Tom Asberry and Mary Shaw. Roy served his country in the US Army. He married Flora Copeland on December 5, 1946 and together had two children, Doug and Melanie. Roy loved airplanes and devoted his career to working at General Dynamics and Lockheed Martin for over 40 years. Roy was a long-time member of Northside Baptist Church where he served as a greeter and a 60 year Mason in the Weatherford Masonic Lodge. Roy enjoyed walking at Walmart each day with his friend, Johnny Hoffman and volunteering at Meals-on Wheels. Roy enjoyed traveling all over the county in his motor home. Most of all, Roy will be remembered as a loving and devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend.
Roy is survived by his children, Doug and wife Pennye Shaw of Weatherford and Melanie and husband Hollis Weeks of Houston; grandchildren, Heather Migneault and husband RD, Shannon Urpani and husband Daniel; three great-grandchildren, Morgan, Paige and Abbey; sister-in-law, Sue Shaw; and by numerous nieces and nephews; and by a host of friends.
In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by his wife, Flora; and by his siblings, Tom Shaw, Jack Shaw, and Mildred Wein, Henry Shaw and Marcell Phillips.
