Russell Robert Green

Russell Robert Green, age 79, died Saturday, March 29, 2014, in Weatherford, Texas. A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Annetta Cemetery, in Annetta, Texas.

Russell was born in Big Spring, Texas, on November 11, 1934, to Dutch Moxley and Novelle Daniels Green. He was raised by his mother and James “Bud” Green and was a graduate of Big Spring High School. Russell was a graduate of the University of North Texas. After graduation, he worked for Humble Oil Refining for 13 years. Later he worked as a branch manager for World Book Encyclopedia for 30 years. But his true love was hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Fay Green of Willow Park; son, Jay Green and wife, Connie of Amarillo; daughter, Liz Green of Houston; and son, Robbie Green and wife, Crystal of Lake Stevens, Washington; step-daughter, Rene’ Driver of Weatherford; sister, Danne Thomas of El Paso; nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.  

He was preceded in death by his father; mother; and daughter, Kay Green.

The family wants to thank The Peach Tree Place Staff for the love and care they provide through the last few years. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Alzheimer’s Association.
