Sammie Ray Davis Jr.

Sammie Ray Davis Jr. went to be with our Lord on Thursday, March 10, 2022, in Weatherford, surrounded by his loving family after an aggressive battle with frontotemporal dementia at age 63. Sammie was born on September 7, 1958, in Mineral Wells, Texas to Sammie Ray Davis Sr. and Wanda Jo Davis.

He graduated from Millsap High School in 1977. Sammie married Tanya on February 16, 1979, and together they raised their two beautiful daughters, Paige and Megan. He started working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in May of 1979 and pridefully retired from AT&T after 39 years. First and foremost, Sammie adored his family. Tanya and the girls were his pride and joy. He also loved bow hunting, fishing, and golfing. Sammie was active in WAMS, the Weatherford RC club, and had a passion for working in his shop building and repairing RC helicopters, airplanes, and drones. Sammie was a protector, always wanted to help others in need, and had a servant's heart. He will be missed dearly by all.

Sammie was preceded in death by his parents, Sammie and Wanda Davis. Sammie is survived by his Wife of 43 years, Tanya Davis of Weatherford, Daughter, Paige Absher and her husband Sam of Houston, Daughter, Megan Davis and her fiancé Scott of Weatherford, Sister, Sherri Huddleston of Cool, Brother, Shane Davis of Corpus Christi, Granddaughter, Allie Absher, and Grandson, Austin Absher.

Visitation will be held at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in Weatherford, Texas on Thursday, March 24, 2022, from 6:00PM – 8:00PM.
Memorial Service to celebrate Sammie will be held at the Galbreaith Pickard Funeral Chapel in Weatherford, Texas on Friday, March 25, 2022, at 2:00PM.
