Sammye Ruth Wigington Robbins

Sammye Ruth Wigington Robbins, age 88, of Weatherford, died Monday, November 28, 2011 at her residence.  Born March 3, 1923 in Whitt, Texas to Roscoe W. Wigington and Zena Maude Waters Wigington.  She was a long time resident of Weatherford and Parker County.  Sammye was a 1939 graduate of Weatherford High School and 1941 graduate of Weatherford College. She received her Bachelor Degree in 1949 and Masters Degree in 1955. She taught in Whitt, Millsap, South Weatherford and James Bowie Elementary where she retired in 1977.  She was a member of the South Main Church of Christ.

Preceded in death by her husband, Marion Baldwin Robbins and son Ronnie Robbins.
Survivors include her granddaughter, Molly Kate Robbins and many cousins and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 10 AM, Friday, December 2, 2011 in the South Main Church of Christ with interment in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 PM, Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the funeral home.
